Whether you are developing your “Eye on Design” in the world around you daily or in your travels, or paying attention to the world of art, craft and literature, you will find that by simply tuning in and paying attention, you will find a new world opening to you. For my website I have chosen several areas of focus to share with you my own creative observation and practice. Choose from the wonderful worlds of:

JEWELRY DESIGN – I began collecting beads and studying their history about four years ago. Out of this wonderful adventure has come a full line of jewelry design that spawns from my travels, from my selected bead-buying sprees, and from creative sessions where I just put together different colors, textures, lengths and weights. The jewelry has personality of it’s own, but when I see a piece I’ve created on the right person – that’s when it comes to life!

TEXTILE DESIGN – resurrecting a childhood passion, knitting and crocheting, I have marveled at the diversity of yarns now available from all over the world. I’ve begun using the Italian and Peruvian yarns and have created wearable art that is relatively fast to complete – scarves! My next venture will be into
quilting and silk painting. Stay tuned.

PHOTOGRAPHY – after purchasing a new Nikon digital camera with which to take photos of my jewelry I began on a project of photographing flowers and plants up close, as well as landscapes in my travels. This has been so rewarding that I have created a new line of photocards and calendars that are radiant with color and design from nature – the best source.

POETRY - I began writing poetry over 30 years ago and kept a journal that has provided some wonderful perspective on my life experience over the years. Eight of my poems on nature were special to me and I collaborated with a wonderful artist, Susannah Fiering, who created illustrations to go with these poems. The result is a set of Poetry cards that allow you to share a special poetic vision along with beautiful watercolor with friends or family.
