for you to meet the artist, see the latest creations, and to
get the latest discounts on all CHANNING DESIGN creations. New

Host a HOME SHOW
You can host a home show to invite your friends for a lovely
evening or afternoon of artistic enjoyment. For your efforts
you will receive the following discounts on CHANNING DESIGN
creations:
$200 in sales - 10% discount
$400 in sales - 20% discount
$600 in sales - 30% discount
$1000 in sales - 50% discount

PUBLIC SHOWS
DeAnza
Flea Market - this lively event is now a local center for
arts and crafts as well as interesting flea market items.
CHANNING DESIGN will have a booth starting in Spring, 2005. This event is HELD THE FIRST SATURDAY OF THE MONTH, rain or shine.
I'll send an announcement out to the CHANNING DESIGN community
prior to each DeAnza Flea Market when I'll have a booth, as a reminder. Dates of appearances at this event to e announced.
Art and Craft Fairs - stay tuned for the schedule of interesting shows Channing is planning to be in during the second half of 2005.
III. Classes
KNITTING ARTS (Saratoga, CA)
‘Absolutely Fabulous Scarves”
Learn how to combine yarns and make your first luscious “art scarf.” In the environment of Knitting Arts where yarns are available from around the world, you will learn to select two or more yarns that will combine beautifully. We spend a full hour of the three hour class walking through the shop and selecting the yarns to use. Then you’ll begin to knit or crochet (your choice) with the yarns you’ve selected. Class also includes finishing techniques.

CHANNING'S HOME
‘Beginning Knitting' (6-9PM, selected weeknights)
If you’ve never knitted, or knitted a long time ago, and want to learn/remember how in an intimate setting, this is the class for you! You will select your yarn from Channing’s collection, and then we will walk step-by-step through the process of casting on, knitting in the ‘garter
stitch’, and then cast off and finish your scarf, including fringe. What you don’t finish in class you’ll have the knowledge to finish on your own. (Or come back and meet with Channing one time after your class to finish your scarf – FREE).

‘Continuing Knitting' (6-9PM, selected weeknights)
After you've learned to knit, we'll learn the next key stitch, called PURL. You'll make another fabulous scarf using both knit and purl, and create your first pattern stitch. We'll refresh our memories about casting on, binding off, finishing and fringe. What you don’t finish in class you’ll be able to finish on your own - or come back for a follow-up with Channing one time to finish your scarf – FREE).

‘Beginning Crocheting' (6-9PM, selected weeknights)
If you are a knitter and have always wanted to crochet, or if you just want to learn to crochet – this is the class for you! You will select your yarn from Channing’s collection, and then we will walk step-by-step through the process of chaining, single crochet, using the ‘turning stitch’,
and then finishing off the piece. You’ll make a fun new scarf that you can wear or give as a gift. (Come back and meet one time with Channing after your class if you need help finishing – FREE)

‘Continuing Crocheting' (6-9PM, selected weeknights)
After you've learned to chain and single crochet and made a scarf, we'll learn some other techniques that will help you make fun shaped items, like a hat, purse or pouch. In an intimate setting, this is the class for you! You will choose from Channing's kits with many different colors and textures. We'll walk step-by-step through the process of shaping your new item through increases and decreases, then finish with a fun edge and/or buttons-beads. What you don't finish in class you can either finish on your own or come back for a follow-up session with Channing one time after your class - FREE).
Cost: Kits - hats $35.00 (include yarn, needles and pattern), purses $25 - 50.00 (include yarn, needles and pattern), or pouches $10- 30.00 (include yarn, needles and pattern)

‘Poncho Class' (6-9PM, selected weeknights)
If you have made scarves and mastered the art of combining yarns, and now want to go to the next level, this class is for you! The poncho is still the “IN” fashion item for the season, and you will choose from one of Channing’s luscious kits (which include multiple yarns, knitting needles or a crochet hook, and a pattern). In the class we will go step-by-step in getting you going to make this lovely piece for your wardrobe, or to give as a gift. Towards the end of the class we will cover finishing techniques includes fringe and embellishments. (You can come back for one visit with Channing to get that polished finish to your piece – FREE).
